Editor’s Notes …
December 19, 2007
How fast did this year go by? It’s November and we are already working on the January/February 2008 issues! We are preparing for a brand new year and looking forward to what it will bring to us and especially to our readers.
But first, this year we turned 15 years old, and sulky, moody teenagers we are NOT.We’ve been covering your successful business developments, organizations and partnerships for such a long time that we have experts on supplier diversity, women’s initiatives and certification. We get very excited when we feature Done Deals, or we highlight a woman’s business that’s growing at an incredible rate, or even when we find a very cool WBE product for our Biz Tools page.
Looking back over the past 15 years, what women have done for the economy is as important as obtaining “The Vote,” or the Equal Credit Opportunity or any landmark event regarding women. Every year our magazine gets bigger and better because women keep growing businesses and improving the economy; and, women are taking over major corporations and securing important seats in the government.
Please enjoy the special section in this magazine focusing on the last 15 years. Get to know us through the collage of our employees on the first page, so next time you see us at a conference, hopefully, you’ll come over and tell us your story.
Also in this issue, enjoy the stories featuring two WBEs who’ve become suppliers to Texas Instruments and Dell; and read what inspires the CEO of the Smithsonian-affiliated The Women’s Museum as she promotes the unique, textured, and diverse stories of American women.
Lastly, look out for our new logo and layouts in 2008. As always, please send me any comments, opinions or ideas you’d like to see in the magazine.Happy holidays and we’ll see you next year.
